Exit Counseling
Exit counseling provides important information to prepare you to repay your federal student loan(s). If you have received a subsidized, unsubsidized or PLUS loan under the Direct Loan Program, you must complete exit counseling each time you:
- Drop below half-time enrollment
- Graduate
- Leave school
When one of the above scenarios occurs, an Exit Counseling requirement is loaded to your student account, and you are notified, via student email, to complete counseling. The U.S. Department of Education FSA ID is required to access the counseling. Completing this session is a federal requirement and will provide you with important information regarding student loan repayment, to include managing your debt, various repayment plans and options, forgiveness requirements and tax benefits.
